Key Capabilities
Share live disaster metrics across your team in VS Code
Standardizing API integrations across a development team is usually a mess of shared keys and docs. This MCP Server solves that by letting you commit a shared configuration file so everyone can run `get_disasters` directly inside VS Code Copilot. Developers can immediately query active crisis data and use `get_countries` to verify geographic IDs without leaving their workspace. The shared setup ensures that every engineer on the project works with the exact same data schemas. Your agent handles the background requests, delivering consistent JSON payloads directly to your active terminal or chat window.
Build automated report parsers with VS Code Copilot
Writing code to ingest humanitarian documents requires constant validation against live feeds. Use `get_reports` inside VS Code Copilot to pull down recent reports, then run `get_themes` or `get_formats` to filter the data by category. Once you isolate a specific document, call `get_report` to inspect its full metadata and file attachments. The agent writes the ingestion code while referencing the actual structure of the incoming ReliefWeb data, preventing runtime errors.
Map humanitarian hiring trends inside your workspace
Tracking NGO job postings and organizational profiles is simple when the data lives in your editor. This tool exposes `get_jobs` and `get_organizations` to VS Code Copilot, letting your team analyze hiring patterns and source credibility. You can quickly cross-reference hiring agencies by running `get_sources` to check their reporting history. The agent uses this live context to build visualization dashboards or populate local databases with real-time humanitarian career data.
