Automate Reports in Your CI Pipeline

This tool lets you run ClickTime operations from any shell, which is perfect for automation. Add a step to your GitHub Actions workflow to perform a weekly time audit. A single `claude mcp run get_high_volume_time_report` command pulls the data. You can then pipe the output to `jq` for filtering or to another script that checks for compliance and sends alerts. It makes scheduled reporting trivial.

ClickTime Data Right in Your Terminal

Forget logging into the web UI just to find an ID or check a project name. This MCP Server puts your ClickTime data at your fingertips in the command line. You can run commands like `claude mcp run list_clicktime_projects` and pipe the output to `grep` or `fzf` to instantly find what you need. It's faster and fits right into your existing terminal workflow.

Build Cron Jobs for Monitoring

Use Claude Code to build simple, powerful monitoring scripts. You can set up a cron job that runs every night to check project budgets. The script can call `list_clicktime_jobs` and `list_time_entries` to sum up hours against a specific job. If the total exceeds a threshold, the script can send a cURL request to a Slack webhook. No complex backend service required.

Common questions about ClickTime MCP in Claude Code

First, you add the managed MCP server from Vinkius using the `claude mcp add` command with your unique endpoint URL. After that, Claude Code can access all the ClickTime tools automatically.
Yes, absolutely. Since Claude Code is a command-line tool, it works perfectly inside Docker. You can build a container with it installed to run reports or checks as part of a larger automated system.
Use the `jq` utility. Run your Claude Code command, pipe the JSON output to `jq`, and use its filters to format the data into CSV. For example: `claude mcp run list_clicktime_users | jq -r '.[] | [.UserID, .Name] | @csv'`.
No. The connection is stateless. Claude Code makes a request to the server endpoint for each command you run, gets the data, and then the connection closes. It doesn't maintain a persistent session.
Claude Code can request your lists of users, projects, clients, and time entries. The Vinkius platform secures every request with your personal token, and each tool execution happens in a sandboxed environment that's torn down immediately after.
