Run Large-Scale Time Audits

This server lets your Gemini agent pull massive amounts of data from ClickTime. The `get_high_volume_time_report` tool fetches up to 2500 time entries in a single call. That's enough data to feed directly into a BigQuery table for deeper analysis. Because Google ADK is built for long-context reasoning, your agent can hold the entire report in memory. It can then cross-reference it with other data sources and generate insights without losing track of the details. It's perfect for quarterly reviews or large project audits.

Integrate ClickTime with Google Cloud

The real power here is connecting your timesheet data to your cloud infrastructure. An agent can use `list_time_entries` to get recent updates, then trigger a Vertex AI pipeline to forecast project costs. This MCP server acts as the bridge between ClickTime and your GCP environment. Setting it up is straightforward. You wrap our endpoint in the `McpToolset` from the `google-adk` library and pass it to your `LlmAgent`. You can even use the `tool_names` filter to restrict the agent to read-only operations like `list_clicktime_projects` and `list_clicktime_users`.

Automate Resource Management on ADK

Give your agent the tools to understand your whole organization. It can call `list_clicktime_clients`, `list_clicktime_jobs`, and `list_clicktime_users` to build a complete map of who is working on what. This isn't just about listing data. A Gemini agent can use this information to spot scheduling conflicts, identify under-utilized team members, or check if a project has the right people assigned. It turns your ClickTime data into an active resource management system.

Setup guide

Set up ClickTime MCP in Google ADK

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.10+ installed
  • google-adk package (pip install google-adk)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Install Google ADK

    Run pip install google-adk to install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via the McpToolset class.

  2. 2

    Connect via SSE transport

    Use McpToolset.from_server() with SseServerParams pointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Create an LlmAgent

    Pass the returned mcp_tools list directly to LlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required.

  4. 4

    Run with any Gemini model

    The agent works with any Gemini model (gemini-2.0-flash, gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with ClickTime tools in your ADK agent.

agent.py
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams

# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
    connection_params=SseServerParams(
        url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
    )
)

# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
    name="ClickTime_agent",
    model="gemini-2.0-flash",
    instruction="You have access to ClickTime tools via MCP.",
    tools=mcp_tools,
)

Common questions about ClickTime MCP in Google ADK

You'll use our ClickTime MCP Server as a toolset. After installing `google-adk`, you define an `McpToolset` using your unique Vinkius URL. Then you just pass that toolset to your `LlmAgent` during initialization.
Absolutely. That's a core use case for the Google ADK. Your agent can use the tools from this MCP server to fetch project data from ClickTime, then use native Google tools to query BigQuery and compare the results.
Yes, the ADK makes this easy. When you create the `McpToolset` for ClickTime, you can pass a `tool_names` list to explicitly define which functions the agent can see. For read-only access, you'd only include the `list_*` and `get_*` tools.
The agent should call the `list_clicktime_users` tool. This returns a list of all people and resource users configured in your ClickTime account, which you can then process or analyze within your agent's workflow.
Your ClickTime data, like project lists and time entry records, is accessed through a secure, authenticated connection to the Vinkius MCP server. The server runs in a sandboxed environment and is ephemeral, meaning it doesn't store your data. Your API token secures the connection from the ADK agent to our platform.
