Discovering Turso Databases with Claude Desktop

Use `list_databases` to get a full registry of all libSQL Edge Databases. You can also run `list_organizations` to identify the root organizational tenants for Turso. It's useful to start by calling `list_database_groups`. This shows you the logical groups that organize where your databases live, giving you immediate context before building anything.

Provisioning Databases using Claude Desktop

`create_database` provisions a new massively distributed Serverless SQLite database. You must provide the organization slug, database name, and target group to make this work. Don't forget `delete_database`. This action permanently wipes a global libSQL database—it’s irreversible, so check your work first.

Securing Connections via MCP Server

If you need to manage access, use `create_database_token` to mint a secure connection Token tied strictly to one specific DB. It's also smart practice to run `rotate_database_tokens` when credentials change. Checking existing permissions is easy with `list_database_tokens`, which lists all active Database execution JWT Tokens for auditing.

Common questions about Turso MCP in Claude Desktop

Run the `get_database_details` tool. This introspects the exact architectural traits of a target libSQL instance, confirming its current setup and capabilities.
Yep. You can use `list_databases` to enumerate the complete Edge Database registry across various locations, making sure you're looking at all your endpoints.
Call `list_edge_locations`. This tool looks up the actual global Fly.io datacenter mappings, letting you know exactly where your data is physically stored.
This MCP Server manages database metadata and connection tokens (JWT Tokens). It deals with the structure and access credentials for your libSQL databases, not user content itself.
It’s best. Listing active tokens ensures you know exactly which connections are currently running and prevents token bloat or security oversights.
