Check Meeting Room Status

When you need to know about an existing meeting, call `get_meeting_details` to get its join URL and expiration date. If you're unsure if a room is active, use `list_active_meetings`. This tells you everything currently pending or running.

Manage Branding and Themes

Need to change the look of a space? Use `update_room_theme` by passing both a hex color code and the room name. If you just want to revert changes, run `reset_room_theme`. You can check what theme is currently set using `get_room_theme`.

Handle Recordings and Cleanup

Use `list_cloud_recordings` to pull a list of all stored recordings. The system also lets you permanently wipe data with `delete_cloud_recording`. For more context, `get_recording_details` retrieves the necessary download links and associated metadata.

Setup guide

Set up Whereby MCP in Cursor

Prerequisites

  • Cursor installed (macOS, Windows, or Linux)
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP Settings

Go to Cursor Settings → MCP or open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and search for "MCP: Add Server".

  2. 2

    Add the Whereby MCP

Cursor will create or open .cursor/mcp.json in your project root. Paste the JSON snippet on the right. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Enable Agent mode

Open Composer (Cmd+I / Ctrl+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown at the top. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

Ask Cursor something like "List my recent Whereby transactions." If the MCP tools are loaded correctly, Cursor will call the Whereby tools automatically. You can also check Settings → MCP for a green status indicator.
