View Meeting Details

To see the specifics of a meeting, run `get_meeting_details`. This gives you the join URL and when that video call expires. Need to know what's running? Use `list_active_meetings` to pull a list of all current or pending rooms.

Room Setup and Cleanup

Use `create_meeting_room` when you need a new video meeting space. You just pass an end date and specify if it's normal or group mode. When the room is done, run `delete_meeting_room`. This immediately deletes the room and terminates any active session.

Theme Management

Check a room’s current visual settings with `get_room_theme` for specific colors or logos. To update branding, use `update_room_theme`, passing both the room name and the desired hex color. You can also reset it entirely using `reset_room_theme`.

Setup guide

Set up Whereby MCP in VS Code Copilot

Prerequisites

  • VS Code 1.99 or later with GitHub Copilot extension
  • Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
  1. 1

    Open MCP configuration

Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P / Ctrl+Shift+P) and run "MCP: Add Server". Select HTTP (Streamable) as the server type. VS Code will create .vscode/mcp.json in your workspace.

  2. 2

    Add the Whereby MCP

Paste the JSON snippet shown on the right into your .vscode/mcp.json. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

  3. 3

    Switch to Agent mode

Open Copilot Chat (Cmd+Shift+I / Ctrl+Shift+I) and switch to Agent mode using the dropdown. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode — they do not appear in Edit or Ask modes.

  4. 4

    Verify the connection

In the Copilot Chat input, type # to list available tools. You should see the Whereby tools listed. Try asking: "List my recent Whereby transactions" and Copilot will invoke them automatically.
