Key Capabilities

Autonomous device control for Cline

Cline can act on your behalf to register new hardware with `register_new_device`. This allows the agent to expand your network of reachable devices without you leaving the VS Code sidebar. It automates the handshake process. Once registered, Cline handles the addressing for every subsequent push.

Cline manages push records

You can tell Cline to audit your push history with `list_recent_pushes`. If the agent finds outdated records, it uses `remove_push_record` to clear the clutter automatically. This keeps your device synchronization clean. Cline ensures that only relevant data points are kept in your active history.

Verify credentials in Cline

Before running complex tasks, Cline calls `test_pushbullet_auth` to confirm your API key is valid. This prevents mid-task failures during automated sequences. It confirms the handshake immediately. You get an error-free execution flow for all your cross-device commands.

Common questions about Pushbullet MCP in Cline

Cline uses the available tools to push data directly to your hardware. It treats your devices like extensions of your coding environment.
The agent only uses the tools you define. You keep control by reviewing every action Cline takes before it hits the API.
Go to the MCP Servers tab in the Cline interface. You can add the server via URL or select it from the marketplace list for a quick install.
Only if you instruct it to. The `remove_device` tool is available for the agent, but it requires your explicit command to execute.
The server processes push notification text and device identifiers. These are handled in transit via encrypted API calls, keeping your local workspace isolated from external access.
