MCP Server: Building Monitoring Dashboards

You tell Cline to build a dashboard component that shows service health. It uses the UptimeRobot API to fetch live status data via `list_monitors` and writes the necessary code, making it ready for staging.

MCP Server: Testing Alert Logic

Need to test what happens when a service goes down? Cline can write a script that simulates an alert failure. It then uses `create_alert_contact` to confirm the notification target (like adding a new Slack channel) works correctly before deployment.

Cline: Programmatic Monitor Setup

Don't set monitors manually. Tell Cline its goal—say, 'Monitor my staging API endpoint.' It runs `create_uptime_monitor` with the correct URL and type (HTTP or Ping), generating clean code to integrate into your project structure.

Common questions about UptimeRobot MCP in Cline

You can ask Cline to run a diagnostic. It will use `list_monitors` and format the results into structured data, which you can then pipe directly into your testing framework or dashboard component.
Yes. If an alert contact needs updating, you can write a function that calls `update_alert_contact`. This lets you handle notification target changes as part of your main coding pipeline.
Cline handles the deletion process. You instruct it to run `delete_uptime_monitor`, and it ensures that the action is executed correctly within your local codebase, confirming the irreversible nature of the change.
You can write a script using the MCP Server to check status. This script can be run by cron or CI/CD tools, ensuring that your monitor health is checked automatically on a set schedule.
The server handles monitor configuration data and alert contacts. This includes the specific URLs being monitored, which helps maintain an accurate record of your infrastructure dependencies.
