How to Use the UptimeRobot MCP in Google ADK
Manage UptimeRobot infrastructure checks using the Google ADK for enterprise agents.
Works with every AI agent you already use
…and any MCP-compatible client
Connect UptimeRobot MCP to Google ADK
Create your Vinkius account to connect UptimeRobot to Google ADK and route execution through our secure gateway. The platform manages server hosting, runtime updates, and security layers. Configuration requires no manual server provisioning.
Monitor Infrastructure with MCP Server
The agent initializes monitoring by calling `create_uptime_monitor`. You provide a friendly name, URL, and type (HTTP or Ping). This ensures Google ADK agents can check critical endpoints right out of the gate. To keep tabs on everything, use `list_monitors` to pull status reports, including up ratios and response times across all your services.
Alert Management for Google ADK
Setting up where alerts land is simple. Use `create_alert_contact` to add a new target like Email or Slack. You can view everything configured with `list_alert_contacts`. If you need to clean house, `delete_alert_contact` permanently removes the destination from UptimeRobot.
Retrieving Monitor Details via MCP Server
Need specific data on one check? The agent runs `get_monitor_details`, which pulls all the full details for a given monitor. It also lets you update configurations with `update_uptime_monitor`. If stats get messy, call `reset_monitor_logs` to clear out old monitoring statistics and logs.
Set up UptimeRobot MCP in Google ADK
Prerequisites
- Python 3.10+ installed
-
google-adkpackage (pip install google-adk) - Active Vinkius subscription with a valid endpoint token
- 1
Install Google ADK
Run
pip install google-adkto install the Agent Development Kit. MCP support is included via theMcpToolsetclass. - 2
Connect via SSE transport
Use
McpToolset.from_server()withSseServerParamspointing to your Vinkius endpoint. Replace[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. - 3
Create an LlmAgent
Pass the returned
mcp_toolslist directly toLlmAgent(tools=mcp_tools). The ADK maps each MCP tool to a native Gemini function call — no manual schema definitions required. - 4
Run with any Gemini model
The agent works with any Gemini model (
gemini-2.0-flash,gemini-2.5-pro, etc.). Copy the full example on the right to get started with UptimeRobot tools in your ADK agent.
from google.adk.agents import LlmAgent
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_toolset import McpToolset
from google.adk.tools.mcp_tool.mcp_session_manager import SseServerParams
# Connect to the MCP via SSE
mcp_tools, exit_stack = await McpToolset.from_server(
connection_params=SseServerParams(
url="https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp"
)
)
# Create your agent with auto-discovered tools
agent = LlmAgent(
name="UptimeRobot_agent",
model="gemini-2.0-flash",
instruction="You have access to UptimeRobot tools via MCP.",
tools=mcp_tools,
