You can get a full picture of what's going on with `get_local_status`, which provides the current state of your local node. Also, use `list_central_networks` to see every ZeroTier Central network you have access to. Need to know who's connected? The tool lets you run `list_central_network_members` to pull a list of all active members within any given central network.

Adjust Local Connectivity

Sometimes you just need to connect or disconnect. You can execute `join_local_network` when your agent needs to join a specific ZeroTier network from your machine. If the connection isn't needed anymore, running `leave_local_network` immediately removes your node from that virtual private network.

Set up ZeroTier MCP in Claude Web or Desktop

Open Claude Settings

Go to claude.ai, click your profile icon, then navigate to Customize → Connectors.

Add Custom Connector

Click the "+" button and select Add custom connector. Paste your Vinkius endpoint URL: https://edge.vinkius.com/[YOUR_TOKEN_HERE]/mcp Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your token from cloud.vinkius.com. For OAuth-protected servers, expand Advanced settings to add credentials.

Open Claude Desktop Settings

Click the menu icon at the top-left corner, go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config. This opens claude_desktop_config.json in your default text editor.

Paste the ZeroTier MCP configuration

Copy the JSON snippet on the right into the mcpServers object. Replace [YOUR_TOKEN_HERE] with your endpoint token from cloud.vinkius.com.

Restart Claude Desktop

Close and reopen the application. Claude needs a full restart to load new MCPs — refreshing a conversation is not enough.
