What is the Giftpack MCP Server?
Connect your Giftpack account to any AI agent to automate your corporate gifting and employee recognition workflows through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Giftpack AI uses advanced algorithms to curate the perfect gifts for your recipients based on their preferences and milestones. This MCP server enables you to manage your recipient database (members), create AI-powered gifting campaigns (orders), and track the entire gifting lifecycle directly through natural conversation.
Key Features
- Recipient Management — List all members in your workspace, retrieve detailed profile metadata, and programmatically add new recipients (employees, clients, or friends).
- AI Order Orchestration — Create new AI gifting campaigns with specific budgets and recipients, and retrieve detailed configuration metadata for each order.
- Launch Automation — Formally launch gifting campaigns once budgets are verified directly from your chat interface.
- Gift Discovery — Retrieve the list of AI-curated gift options for any specific receiver to understand what's being offered.
- Milestone Tracking — List available gifting purposes (onboarding, anniversaries, birthdays) to align your campaigns with business events.
- Workspace Oversight — Access metadata for your authenticated workspace to verify connectivity and authorized scopes.
- Real-time Synchronization — Keep your relationship-driven gifting data accessible to your AI assistant without leaving your primary workspace.

Why teams choose Vinkius for Giftpack in Cursor
The Giftpack MCP Server runs on Vinkius-managed infrastructure inside AWS — a purpose-built runtime with per-request V8 isolates, Ed25519 signed audit chains, and sub-40ms cold starts. All 12 tools execute in hardened sandboxes optimized for native MCP execution.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get an API Key for Giftpack?
Log in to your Giftpack dashboard, navigate to the Integration Hub, and select 'API Keys' to generate or copy your active key.
What is an 'AI Order'?
An AI Order is a gifting campaign where Giftpack's AI curates gift options based on the recipient's profile and your set budget.
Can I launch a campaign directly via the agent?
Yes! Use the 'launch_gifting_campaign' tool. Once you provide the Order ID, the system will formally activate the campaign for fulfillment.
How do I add multiple recipients to one order?
When using 'create_gifting_campaign', pass a JSON array of Member IDs in the 'receiverIdsJson' parameter to include multiple recipients at once.
What is Agent mode and why does it matter for MCP?
Agent mode is Cursor's autonomous execution mode where the AI can perform multi-step tasks: reading files, editing code, running terminal commands, and calling MCP tools. Without Agent mode, Cursor operates in a simpler ask-and-answer mode that doesn't support tool calling. Always ensure you're in Agent mode when working with MCP servers.
Where does Cursor store MCP configuration?
Cursor looks for MCP server configurations in a mcp.json file. You can configure servers at the project level (.cursor/mcp.json in your project root) or globally (~/.cursor/mcp.json). Project-level configs take precedence.
Can Cursor use MCP tools in inline edits?
No. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode through the chat panel. Inline completions and Tab suggestions do not trigger MCP tool calls. This is by design. tool calls require user visibility and approval.
How do I verify MCP tools are loaded?
Open Settings → Features → MCP and look for your server name. A green indicator means the server is connected. You can also check Agent mode's available tools by clicking the tools dropdown in the chat panel.
Tools not appearing in Cursor
Ensure you are in Agent mode (not Ask mode). MCP tools only work in Agent mode.
