Dify.AI SDK

What is the Dify.AI SDK MCP Server?

Connect your Vinkius agents directly to Dify.AI, the leading open-source LLM app development platform. With 10 exposed tools, you can execute complex Dify workflows, send messages to specialized chatbots, retrieve session histories, and submit model feedback for RLHF.

What you can do

  • Agent Chat — Send messages to published Dify chatbots and track conversations
  • Workflows — Trigger background Dify workflows with dynamic JSON parameters
  • Session Management — Rename, fetch, or delete conversation histories
  • Audit & Feedback — Programmatically submit 'like/dislike' ratings to improve model tuning

How it works

  1. Publish your App (Chatbot or Workflow) on Dify
  2. Navigate to your app's API Access section and generate an API API Key
  3. Set the Base URL to https://api.dify.ai/v1 (for cloud) or your own instance.

Who is this for?

  • LLM Developers — Integrate multi-agent orchestration by letting Vinkius agents call Dify-specialized workflows
  • Product Teams — Monitor interactions and automate RLHF pipelines via feedback endpoints

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01

Does this work with self-hosted Dify?

Yes, simply replace the Base URL credential with your own domain (e.g. https://dify.mycompany.com/v1).

02

Which VS Code version supports MCP?

MCP support requires VS Code 1.99 or later with the GitHub Copilot extension. Ensure both are updated to the latest version. Older versions of Copilot may not expose the Agent mode toggle.

03

How do I switch to Agent mode?

Open the Copilot Chat panel and look for two mode options: "Ask" and "Agent". Click "Agent" to enable autonomous tool calling. In Ask mode, Copilot provides conversational answers but cannot invoke MCP tools.

04

Can I restrict which MCP tools Copilot can access?

Yes. VS Code shows a tool consent dialog before any MCP tool is invoked for the first time. You can also configure tool access policies at the organization level through GitHub Copilot settings.

05

Does MCP work in VS Code Remote or Codespaces?

Yes. MCP servers configured via .vscode/mcp.json work in Remote SSH, WSL, and GitHub Codespaces environments. The MCP connection is established from the remote host, so ensure the server URL is accessible from that environment.

06

MCP tools not available

Ensure you are in Agent mode in Copilot Chat. MCP tools only appear in Agent mode.
