Helius (Solana)

What is the Helius (Solana) MCP Server?

Connect your Helius account to any AI agent to interact with the Solana blockchain with unprecedented speed and depth. This server leverages Helius's powerful RPC and DAS (Digital Asset Standard) API to provide real-time blockchain intelligence.

What you can do

  • Asset Management — Fetch detailed metadata for NFTs, cNFTs, and fungible tokens using get_asset or get_asset_batch.
  • Wallet Intelligence — Retrieve complete balances with real-time USD pricing using get_wallet_balances and track history with get_wallet_history.
  • Ownership Tracking — List every asset owned by a specific Solana address via get_assets_by_owner.
  • Network Optimization — Get precise priority fee estimates with get_priority_fee_estimate to ensure your transactions land during high congestion.
  • Advanced Search — Query the blockchain for specific assets based on collection, creator, or attributes using search_assets.

How it works

  1. Subscribe to this server
  2. Enter your Helius API Key
  3. Start querying Solana data from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client

Who is this for?

  • Web3 Developers — Debug smart contracts and verify on-chain state without leaving your IDE.
  • Crypto Analysts — Perform deep wallet forensics and portfolio tracking through natural language.
  • NFT Collectors — Manage and inspect compressed NFTs and collections with ease.

Why Cursor?

Cursor's Agent mode turns Helius (Solana) into an in-editor superpower. Ask Cursor to generate code using live data from Helius (Solana) and it fetches, processes, and writes. all in a single agentic loop. 14 tools appear alongside file editing and terminal access, creating a unified development environment grounded in real-time information.

  • Agent mode turns Cursor into an autonomous coding assistant that can read files, run commands, and call MCP tools without switching context

  • Cursor's Composer feature can generate entire files using real-time data fetched through MCP. no copy-pasting from external dashboards

  • MCP tools appear alongside built-in tools like file reading and terminal access, creating a unified agentic environment

  • VS Code extension compatibility means your existing workflow, keybindings, and extensions all work alongside MCP tools

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01

Can I see the USD value of my tokens and NFTs?

Yes! Use the get_wallet_balances tool. It fetches native SOL, SPL tokens, and NFTs along with their current market pricing in USD.

02

How do I handle compressed NFTs (cNFTs)?

You can use get_asset to see details or get_asset_proof to retrieve the Merkle proof required for on-chain interactions with compressed assets.

03

Can I search for assets by specific creators or collections?

Absolutely. Use the search_assets tool with a JSON query to filter by collection ID, creator address, or specific attributes.

04

What is Agent mode and why does it matter for MCP?

Agent mode is Cursor's autonomous execution mode where the AI can perform multi-step tasks: reading files, editing code, running terminal commands, and calling MCP tools. Without Agent mode, Cursor operates in a simpler ask-and-answer mode that doesn't support tool calling. Always ensure you're in Agent mode when working with MCP servers.

05

Where does Cursor store MCP configuration?

Cursor looks for MCP server configurations in a mcp.json file. You can configure servers at the project level (.cursor/mcp.json in your project root) or globally (~/.cursor/mcp.json). Project-level configs take precedence.

06

Can Cursor use MCP tools in inline edits?

No. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode through the chat panel. Inline completions and Tab suggestions do not trigger MCP tool calls. This is by design. tool calls require user visibility and approval.

07

How do I verify MCP tools are loaded?

Open Settings → Features → MCP and look for your server name. A green indicator means the server is connected. You can also check Agent mode's available tools by clicking the tools dropdown in the chat panel.

08

Tools not appearing in Cursor

Ensure you are in Agent mode (not Ask mode). MCP tools only work in Agent mode.
