What is the Bringg MCP Server?

Connect your Bringg account to any AI agent and take full control of your final-mile delivery and dispatch operations through natural conversation.

What you can do

  • Delivery Tasks — Create, update, list, and cancel delivery tasks dynamically before the truck leaves your hub
  • Fleet Dispatch — Manually assign specific drivers to tasks, bypassing default optimization algorithms
  • Live Timelines — Pull real-time geolocated tracking data and status estimates for any active order
  • Force Progression — Manually trigger task start or completion states to keep the dispatch board accurate
  • Driver CRM — List all human drivers across the fleet, track their availability, and analyze active limits
  • Customer Database — Instantly retrieve historical data for past delivery recipients

How it works

  1. Subscribe to this server
  2. Enter your Bringg Access Token
  3. Start dispatching directly from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client

No more jumping between dispatch dashboards. Your AI agent handles the logistics routing.

Who is this for?

  • Dispatch managers — reroute drivers, force task states, and check live delivery timelines on the fly
  • Support reps — instantly check order status and customer history to answer tickets without leaving the CRM
  • Operations teams — build complex end-of-day delivery analyses and track fleet efficiency
  • Founders & executives — pull an immediate snapshot of daily active tasks and active fleet resources

Why VS Code Copilot?

GitHub Copilot Agent mode brings Bringg data directly into your VS Code workflow. With a project-scoped config, the entire team shares access to 10 tools. Copilot queries live data, generates typed code, and writes tests from actual API responses, all without leaving the editor.

  • VS Code is used by over 70% of developers. adding MCP tools to Copilot means your team can leverage external data without leaving their primary editor

  • Project-scoped MCP configs (.vscode/mcp.json) let you commit server configurations to your repository, ensuring the entire team shares the same tool access

  • Copilot's Agent mode integrates MCP tools seamlessly with file editing, terminal commands, and workspace search in a single agentic loop

  • GitHub's enterprise compliance and audit features extend to MCP tool usage, providing visibility into how AI interacts with external services

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01

Can my AI automatically reroute an assigned driver?

Yes. If an urgent delivery arises or a driver is delayed, you can prompt your agent to find another available fleet driver and assign them to the task. It bypasses the engine's built-in optimization logic and enforces the manual assignment on the Bringg dashboard globally.

02

Can I fetch the exact live location for a specific order?

Yes! Use the get_task_timeline tool. Your AI agent can query a specific task ID, reading the timeline progression as well as the active geolocation coordinates. This is perfect for support agents dealing with "Where is my order?" queries who don't want to open a secondary tab.

03

What happens if a driver forgets to mark a task complete on their app?

You can force the status progression using your AI agent. Tools like force_task_complete and force_task_start allow you to manually push the task into its finalized state inside your chat, instantly solving tracking desyncs for your logistics operation.

04

Which VS Code version supports MCP?

MCP support requires VS Code 1.99 or later with the GitHub Copilot extension. Ensure both are updated to the latest version. Older versions of Copilot may not expose the Agent mode toggle.

05

How do I switch to Agent mode?

Open the Copilot Chat panel and look for two mode options: "Ask" and "Agent". Click "Agent" to enable autonomous tool calling. In Ask mode, Copilot provides conversational answers but cannot invoke MCP tools.

06

Can I restrict which MCP tools Copilot can access?

Yes. VS Code shows a tool consent dialog before any MCP tool is invoked for the first time. You can also configure tool access policies at the organization level through GitHub Copilot settings.

07

Does MCP work in VS Code Remote or Codespaces?

Yes. MCP servers configured via .vscode/mcp.json work in Remote SSH, WSL, and GitHub Codespaces environments. The MCP connection is established from the remote host, so ensure the server URL is accessible from that environment.

08

MCP tools not available

Ensure you are in Agent mode in Copilot Chat. MCP tools only appear in Agent mode.
