What is the Lanhu MCP Server?

Empower your AI agent to orchestrate your product design workflow with Lanhu (蓝湖), the premier design collaboration platform for high-performance teams. By connecting Lanhu to your agent, you transform complex design handoffs and project coordination into a natural conversation. Your agent can instantly list your projects, retrieve design file information, audit layer structures, and even browse team comments without you needing to navigate the web interface. Whether you are managing a mobile app design or a large-scale enterprise system, your agent acts as a real-time design coordinator, keeping your assets organized and your production moving.

What you can do

  • Project Orchestration — List all accessible design projects and files across your Lanhu workspace.
  • Design Auditing — Retrieve detailed metadata about design files, including layers and node structures.
  • Collaboration Monitoring — Browse file comments and discussions to stay informed about team feedback.
  • Board Management — Access design boards to understand project organization and milestones.
  • Team Coordination — List teams and members to manage assignments and participation effectively.

How it works

  1. Subscribe to this server
  2. Enter your Lanhu Access Token
  3. Start managing your design projects through Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client

Who is this for?

  • Product Designers — automate design asset organization and manage project files through natural language.
  • Frontend Developers — retrieve design metadata and layer details directly from your AI-powered development workspace.
  • Product Managers — track design progress and monitor feedback across multiple projects via a unified AI interface.
  • Design Ops — oversee design workflows and team collaborations without manual technical overhead.

Why Cursor?

Cursor's Agent mode turns Lanhu into an in-editor superpower. Ask Cursor to generate code using live data from Lanhu and it fetches, processes, and writes. all in a single agentic loop. 10 tools appear alongside file editing and terminal access, creating a unified development environment grounded in real-time information.

  • Agent mode turns Cursor into an autonomous coding assistant that can read files, run commands, and call MCP tools without switching context

  • Cursor's Composer feature can generate entire files using real-time data fetched through MCP. no copy-pasting from external dashboards

  • MCP tools appear alongside built-in tools like file reading and terminal access, creating a unified agentic environment

  • VS Code extension compatibility means your existing workflow, keybindings, and extensions all work alongside MCP tools

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01

How do I find my Lanhu Access Token?

Log in to Lanhu, go to [User Settings] → [Access Token], and generate a new token. Copy it immediately as it won't be shown again.

02

Can I read design layer information through the agent?

Yes. Use the list_layers tool with the design file ID. This allows your agent to retrieve the layer structure and design nodes for that specific file.

03

Does Lanhu support team-based organization?

Yes. You can list all your teams using the list_teams tool and then explore projects and members specifically for each team using their IDs.

04

What is Agent mode and why does it matter for MCP?

Agent mode is Cursor's autonomous execution mode where the AI can perform multi-step tasks: reading files, editing code, running terminal commands, and calling MCP tools. Without Agent mode, Cursor operates in a simpler ask-and-answer mode that doesn't support tool calling. Always ensure you're in Agent mode when working with MCP servers.

05

Where does Cursor store MCP configuration?

Cursor looks for MCP server configurations in a mcp.json file. You can configure servers at the project level (.cursor/mcp.json in your project root) or globally (~/.cursor/mcp.json). Project-level configs take precedence.

06

Can Cursor use MCP tools in inline edits?

No. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode through the chat panel. Inline completions and Tab suggestions do not trigger MCP tool calls. This is by design. tool calls require user visibility and approval.

07

How do I verify MCP tools are loaded?

Open Settings → Features → MCP and look for your server name. A green indicator means the server is connected. You can also check Agent mode's available tools by clicking the tools dropdown in the chat panel.

08

Tools not appearing in Cursor

Ensure you are in Agent mode (not Ask mode). MCP tools only work in Agent mode.

09

Server shows as disconnected

Check Settings → Features → MCP and verify the server status. Try clicking the refresh button.
