Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform)

What is the Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform) MCP Server?

Connect your Nango account to any AI agent and take full control of your product's integrations, OAuth connections, and automated data synchronization through natural conversation.

What you can do

  • Integration Orchestration — List all configured integration logics across 700+ providers and retrieve detailed sync parameters and provider keys directly from your agent
  • Connection Management — List and audit authenticated OAuth or credential-based connections to verify which customers have linked which external platforms securely
  • Sync Monitoring — Track the real-time status and historical logs of automated data synchronizations to identify processing errors or data drift natively
  • Unified Record Access — Explore actual synchronized data records for specific models (e.g., contacts, deals, tasks) across your entire connection pool securely
  • Credential Audit — Retrieve precise metadata mapping authentication payloads and token boundaries for any specific Nango connection instantly
  • Environment Visibility — Inspect your environment's runtime mapping logic and host constraints to ensure your integration infrastructure is healthy and correctly configured

How it works

  1. Subscribe to this server
  2. Enter your Nango Secret Key
  3. Start managing your integrations from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client

Who is this for?

  • Product Managers — audit customer connection health and verify integration statuses through natural conversation without manual dashboard navigation
  • Software Developers — test data sync logic and verify unified record schemas across multiple providers directly from your workspace
  • Integration Leads — monitor the performance of your automated data pipeline and manage OAuth connections efficiently to maintain high-reliability standards

Why Cursor?

Cursor's Agent mode turns Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform) into an in-editor superpower. Ask Cursor to generate code using live data from Nango (Unified API & Integration Platform) and it fetches, processes, and writes. all in a single agentic loop. 7 tools appear alongside file editing and terminal access, creating a unified development environment grounded in real-time information.

  • Agent mode turns Cursor into an autonomous coding assistant that can read files, run commands, and call MCP tools without switching context

  • Cursor's Composer feature can generate entire files using real-time data fetched through MCP. no copy-pasting from external dashboards

  • MCP tools appear alongside built-in tools like file reading and terminal access, creating a unified agentic environment

  • VS Code extension compatibility means your existing workflow, keybindings, and extensions all work alongside MCP tools

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01

Can I see which customers have an expired OAuth connection through my agent?

Yes. Use the list_connections tool to retrieve all authenticated linked accounts. Your agent will report the current status of each connection, helping you identify which users need to re-authenticate their external platforms.

02

How do I check if a data synchronization failed recently?

The list_syncs tool retrieves the synchronization history for a specific connection. Your agent will expose the log outputs and status indicators, allowing you to debug data processing issues directly from your conversation.

03

Can my agent retrieve synchronized data records from external APIs?

Absolutely. Use the list_records tool with a Connection ID and a model name (e.g., 'contacts'). Your agent will query Nango's storage to fetch the raw synchronized objects, bypassing external API limits natively.

04

What is Agent mode and why does it matter for MCP?

Agent mode is Cursor's autonomous execution mode where the AI can perform multi-step tasks: reading files, editing code, running terminal commands, and calling MCP tools. Without Agent mode, Cursor operates in a simpler ask-and-answer mode that doesn't support tool calling. Always ensure you're in Agent mode when working with MCP servers.

05

Where does Cursor store MCP configuration?

Cursor looks for MCP server configurations in a mcp.json file. You can configure servers at the project level (.cursor/mcp.json in your project root) or globally (~/.cursor/mcp.json). Project-level configs take precedence.

06

Can Cursor use MCP tools in inline edits?

No. MCP tools are only available in Agent mode through the chat panel. Inline completions and Tab suggestions do not trigger MCP tool calls. This is by design. tool calls require user visibility and approval.

07

How do I verify MCP tools are loaded?

Open Settings → Features → MCP and look for your server name. A green indicator means the server is connected. You can also check Agent mode's available tools by clicking the tools dropdown in the chat panel.

08

Tools not appearing in Cursor

Ensure you are in Agent mode (not Ask mode). MCP tools only work in Agent mode.
